Master of Science in Telecommunications Engineering
The Department of Computer and Electronics Engineering offers courses of study leading to the Master of Science in Telecommunications Engineering. This program provides advanced education and research to develop breadth of knowledge and depth of expertise in the engineering of telecommunication networks and systems. Strong emphasis is placed on the areas of High Speed/broadband Computer Communications Networks, Optical Communications, and Wireless/Satellite Communications. Specialized state-of-the-art laboratories and computer facilities are available in the above three areas.
This program is a UNL program offered in Omaha at the Peter Kiewit Institute. Students may take some of the courses through the Electrical Engineering and the Computer Science and Engineering Departments on the Lincoln Campus. For admission to this program, a student must have a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a closely related area.
Admission Requirements Overview
Application Deadline:
- April 15 for the following Fall Semester (e.g., Apr. 15, 2008 for Fall 2008)
- October 15 for the following Spring Semester (e.g., Oct. 15, 2008 for Spring 2009)
- The GRE is required for international students. These students are required to perform in the top 20% for ALL three GRE testing areas (i.e., Verbal, Quantitative, Analytical) in order for the MSTE degree application to be accepted.
